DCNR hopes to connect you to the outside world through guided recreation outings, educational programs, workshops, volunteer opportunities, and more. This calendar will provide you with quick and easy access to the latest events and activities offered in state parks, forests and communities. Be sure to check back often for the most recent events.
Join park volunteer Stash Nawrocki and discover the history of our nearest galactic neighbor. Learn how the seas and craters formed, and use a lunar map to identify some of the best-known craters and the sea where the astronauts first landed in 1969. Bring along binoculars if you have a pair. Be sure to pick up a lunar fact sheet and take-home moon map to find more of these features from your own back yard. Park in the public parking lot and follow the lights and signs to the observation area.
