How to Get a DMAP Tag
Hunters can obtain DMAP antlerless harvest permits directly from the Pennsylvania Game Commission. (DCNR no longer distributes DMAP coupons.)
To obtain DMAP antlerless harvest permits for state forest or state park DMAP areas, please follow these simple steps:
Determine which DMAP areas you wish to hunt. Maps and information are posted on our DMAP homepage.
Obtain your DMAP permit directly from the PA Game Commission. After determining the DMAP number of the desired area(s), the hunter will either visit any license issuing agent, or visit the PA Game Commission web site.
Visit a license issuing agent. A hunter may obtain a DMAP antlerless harvest permit directly from a license issuing agent. Simply tell the agent which DMAP area(s) you are interested in. You will be required to pay the appropriate fee, and you will receive the actual harvest permit at that time. The Game Commission web site maintains a list of License Issuing Agents.
Visit the PA Game Commission web site. A hunter may obtain a DMAP antlerless harvest permit by visiting the Outdoor Shop on the PA Game Commission web site
Please read these instructions on how to use the PA Game Commission web site to purchase DMAP coupons for DCNR lands.
Important Notice about DMAP permit availability for DCNR lands - As explained above, DMAP permits for DCNR lands are no longer obtained by redeeming a "coupon" distributed by DCNR. Rather, a permit is obtained directly from the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Because of this, DCNR does not know how many coupons are remaining for any DMAP area, and does not know when an area is "sold out". The only way to tell if permits remain for a particular DMAP area is to attempt to purchase one from the PGC.
