Gypsy Moth Suppression Program

DCNR Bureau of Forestry will again spray for gypsy moth, a destructive non-native insect, in the most heavily impacted forests across Pennsylvania.

The spray program is a cooperative effort between DCNR's Bureau of Forestry, county and municipal governments, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service's Forest Health Protection Unit.

The photo to the left shows newly hatched first instar gypsy moth larvae. The picture was taken May 1, 2008 in Adams county.
