Sandy Creek, Allegheny River and Justus trails

Spanning 1,385 feet, the Belmar Bridge is the gateway across the beautiful Allegheny River to the Sandy Creek Trail and Allegheny River Trail. Continuing straight after the bridge, the paved Sandy Creek Trail takes you along the remote and rugged Sandy Creek, crossing eight high bridges and passing through one tunnel. To connect with the Allegheny River Trail, look for the stairway down to the trail on the right just after crossing the bridge. At the bottom of the staircase, the trail heads north to Franklin and connects with the Justus Trail or goes south to Emlenton. Each of the three trail sections has great views and plenty of greenery; the hardest part of these trails is selecting which way to go.

* Once printed, the sheet of paper is designed to be folded twice.
(Therefore, the upper left-hand quarter will appear "upside down" on your screen.)

  • With printed side facing up, fold sheet "long-ways" (along the map) so that the printing faces "out" on both sides (and resulting in a sheet about 4.25"x11")
  • Fold in half again, so that the large photo faces "out" (the finished product should now be about 4.25"x5.5")
