Cross-country Skiing and Snowshoeing
There is a certain peace and tranquillity in the parks during the winter, and the view can be breathtaking. Cross-country skiing is a great way to enjoy a state park in winter, especially when there is lots of snow on the ground. In addition to the obvious fitness benefits, cross-country skiing is an excellent way to observe nature.
Cross-country skiing trails are located on hiking trails, equestrian trails, service roads, fields, frozen lakes, old railroad grades and lake shorelines. Some trails have track set. Visitors are asked to not hike or snowshoe over the set track.
Snowshoeing is available anywhere there is enough snow.
Find out where there is snow with our weekly Winter Report, updated from first snow until spring thaw.
