This remote area of the state is characterized by wilderness surroundings. It is a great place to see elk, bald eagle and other wildlife. PA Wilds contains the "God's Country" of Potter County, the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania and Allegheny National Forest. It is paradise for outdoor adventurers.

Bald Eagle

Some park trails and open areas are suitable for cross-country skiing. About seven miles of ungroomed trails are available with proper snow conditions.

Black Moshannon
|
All trails are open to cross-country skiers. Trails labeled below with cross-country skiing are recommended.

Chapman
|
At least 4.4 miles of groomed ski trails connect with numerous trails in the adjoining national forest and state game land.

Clear Creek

A three-mile cross-country ski trail uses portions of Truby, Sawmill, Clear Creek and Ox Shoe trails to make a loop.

Cook Forest
|
There are three designated cross-country ski trails.

Kettle Creek
|
Cross-country skiing is permitted throughout the park.

Little Pine
|
The 4.2-mile Lake Shore Trail follows level terrain and parallels the lake and headwaters and then returns to the starting location. Motor vehicles and snowmobiles are prohibited in this area.

Ole Bull

In addition to a groomed cross-country skiing trail, cross-country skiers and snowshoers are allowed throughout the park.

Many trails are available in the park and in the surrounding state forest.

Ski on more than four miles of easy to moderate roads and trails.

Sizerville
|
Park trails provide access to many miles of trails on adjacent state forest land. The average yearly snowfall is 60-70 inches. The park provides parking and restrooms.
