Not all parking lots are open due to depth and weight of snow. Mooring area/Pavilion #3, Beaver Dam Boat Launch, Park Office, Education Center and portions of Beach lots 3 and 6 are open at this time.

Anglers have been seen on the lake. There is currently open water from the Spillway to within 100 feet of the beach. Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocked trout 10-6-09. The next scheduled trout stocking at Canoe Lake is 2-16-10. The courtsey docks have been removed from the launch ramps until spring.

More snow is in the weekend forecast. The outer loop of Beaver Dam to Skunk Trail was groomed for Cross Country Skiing on 2/9/10.
Souders Trail is closed to snowmobiles. The following roads are closed to snowmobiles: Medix Grade,Four Mile Road & McGeorge Road from the intersection with Four Mile Road to the intersection with Tyler Road.

Ice depths vary from 0 to 9". Thinner ice is over the channels from the inflows from rain and snow melt due to warm weather two week ago. The ice skating rink is closed.
Ice conditions are NOT monitored. ICE FISHERMAN, this is a stocked trout water. The lake is closed to all fishing, per Fish and Boat Commission Regulations, from March 1 to the opening day of trout season. Ice conditions are NOT monitored. Lake is snow coverered with 12+" of snow. Caution near tributaries, Avoid areas with protruding logs, brush, plants and docks. Venturing out on ice alone is not advisable. Wearing a life jacket, have ice awls, a long strong stick, and a sled are recommended. Ice rescue stations are located at Main Marina, Wyrough, Killbuck, Beaver Dam and Beaver Valley launch ramps.

PPL completed laying the underground electric line to the east side of the park. The hi-volt electric that crossed over the Keystone Road (next to the campground) has been removed. The Keystone Road is open to normal snowmobile use when there is sufficient snow conditions. Open water is found at the beach. Ice conditions are not monitored. Listed ice depth is an average taken from test holes in only a couple of locations on the lake and is not meant to be used as a gauge for the entire lake since ice does not form in a uniform manner. Use extreme caution before venturing out onto the ice and when out on the ice because of the variation in ice thickness.
The PA Fish and Boat Commission recommends 4` of good ice to support one person. Visit their website at www.fish.state.pa.us for more information on ice safety.

The following roads are closed in the area to snowmobilers due to truck traffic from natural gas well work: Four Mile Road and McGeorge Road from the intersection with Four Mile Road to the intersection with Tyler Road. Additional parking with better trail access is available at Parker Dam State Park. Medix Grade Road is also closed due to wash out.

During the winter season, roadway between the park office and campground is open to snowmobiles and closed to normal traffic. Main Park Road / East Cowley Run remains open to automobiles and CLOSED TO SNOWMOBILES. Snowmobile parking is located at pavilion #2.
