Description: Below is a list of the county reports published by the Pennsylvania Geological Survey. These technical reports cover the geology and mineral resources of Pennsylvania counties and include a book and at least one large-scale, full-color geologic map. More detailed bibliographic information (including types of maps and map scales) is given in the Survey’s list of publications. There are 67 counties in the commonwealth, and county reports exist for 9 of them. The reports are numbered according to their count in an alphabetical list of county names.
Disclaimer: Each user is responsible for the appropriate application of Pennsylvania Geological Survey reports and data as explained in our official disclaimer.
Availability: If a title in the list below is an active link, clicking the title will initiate the download of a ZIP file that was prepared for the report. The published printed copies of most county reports can be borrowed from the Survey library or possibly from one of our repository libraries. If you are not near one of these libraries, you can go to a local library and ask the librarian to arrange an interlibrary loan.
Parts 2 and 3 of the Adams County (C 1) report could not be located in our collections and, accordingly, were not prepared for online distribution. If you have either of these missing reports that we can scan, please contact the Survey’s Middletown office.
