Rock City

This "street" formed when the large mass of Homewood Sandstone on the right separated along a joint from the main mass of Homewood Sandstone on the left, and moved downslope a few feet under the influence of gravity. Several intersecting "streets" are visible in this photograph.

While visiting this rock city, note the extensive cross bedding throughout the Homewood Sandstone.

This photo was taken along Rim Road at the rock climbing area. An extensive rock city has developed here.

A similar rock city has developed along the exit road north from McConnells Mill.
