Where Swope Road passes over the crest of the Jacksville Esker, it is sometimes possible to see exposures of the sediments comprising the esker. It is mainly sand, gravel, and cobbles. Cobbles are of various rock types, including uncommon metamorphic and igneous cobbles. Metamorphic and igneous rocks are not found in the bedrock of this area. They were plucked from bedrock in Canada, transported in the glacier, and deposited here by the subglacial stream.
