Description: Below is a list of special bulletins published by the Pennsylvania Geological Survey between 1944 and 1965. The bulletins are folios (mostly 13.5 inches by 18 inches) pertaining to the state’s oil and gas industry, and include brief reports on stratigraphy. Most of the folios have 1:24,000-scale maps of oil and gas fields, and many have smaller scale geologic structure, isopach, or lithofacies maps.
More detailed bibliographic information (including types of maps and map scales) is given in the Survey’s list of publications. Short report descriptions can be found on report landing pages, which are accessed through a publications search on the PaGEODE website.

The published printed copies of special bulletins may be viewed in the Survey library or at the bureau’s Pittsburgh office but because of their limited quantities may not be borrowed.
